There's a lot of talk about a New World Order and all that. Personally, I don't see why a New World Order would be a bad thing. There have been plenty of major changes in the world invoked by man. Of course I'm not going to be happy with a police state that's gonna Big Brother everyone. But I don't think a Big Brother has to be a bad thing. The way I see it is like a google for reallife. "Where is the kitchen knife?' -"~Your child is playing with it in the garden~".. Or something like "WARNING - CHILD DROWNING" showing up on the phones of 3 most likely people to be able to rescue this child, and get emergency services at the right spot asap..

See.. that's quite different from the DRM and invasion of privacy discussions..

Anyway, moving on.. the thought that came to mind recently was: How much money are all the current assets on earth worth? Something I wasn't able to find out.. but there is a gross world product (the amount of money being generated from earth's resources (tangible and intangible) over 1 year). Which is roughly 65.61 trillion dollars for 2007. Now.. let's divide that by the amount of people on the earth: roughly 6.7 billion. This means, that if we want to equalise things in the world, everybody should be able to live on roughly $10000 a year.. I'd like for everyone making more than this to ponder that for a while.

I know these are rough numbers, and things are way more complex than I'm portraying here (inflation, exchange rates and other bullshit economic devices). But at least it gives -some- impression on where we stand financially. It did for me.

I heard that song on the radio today, when I was at work. And the refrain kinda struck me. Some of you know that I've met some australian musicians a while ago (Hussy Hicks). And the song reminded me of Julz, and the way I kinda connected with her. I'm not good at the whole guy/girl thing and feelings. So I can't be sure, but I felt something, anyway. Then again, does one need to know for sure? I had a great time, and she had too. I just wished we could've spend more time together and/or alone. But on the other hand, that could've been worse afterwards.

Oh well.. Live goes on. And out of sight, out of mind. At least I've got a song to remind her by ;) (excluding all their own songs, of course, lol)

Another month, another post

There's plenty to write about again. First of all, Pinkpop. I had a great time there, although it would've been better if there had been a band whom I'd really like to see. But I discovered some new bands to listen to. A lot of weird coincidences surrounding Pinkpop.. Me and Corne running into some friends with whom we were going to hang out with. Then we happen to set up our tents about 10 meters away from theirs, without knowing where they had set up their tents. When Corne was looking for his brother, and I was waiting for them, someone stumbled a bit over my bag.. so he turned around to say sorry I saw it was Corne's brother.. really, what are the odds..

More recently, Corne had some friends from Australia over. A girl he met over there and her friend. They're musicians, and pretty darn good ones too, if you ask me. We had wonderful time hanging out with them. So we're planning on meeting up again in Germany, coming weekend. Should be fun. And interesting.. :) Anyway, check out their site: Hussy Hicks

There have been some pretty interesting trips and thoughts as well.. like a shroom trip in the car, back from Pinkpop.. cars looking -very- shiny, driving over small hills felt like a mountain. Cities and buildings had a sci-fi look to 'em. And there's always the fun stuff that you see when you close your eyes. :) But there's a significant psychological effect as well. Which, so far, has more often been good than bad, for me. So it sucks that they're going to make shrooms illegal here.. such nonsense.. *rolleyes*

I've been terrible at updating my blog lately. Probably because I kinda have a life these days ;)

But I do want to keep peeps updated (dunno how many people actually read this, even).. so here goes.

I've been to India for a couple of weeks, travelled around with a friend. Which was awesome, frustrating and exhausting. It's a wonderful country with really friendly people (except when they're trying to make money off of you, or trying to buy a train ticket! ouch!).. I travelled around with a close friend of mine, and sure we had some rough patches (which we knew were going to happen, but I guess we got caught off-guard, still), we had a great time. It's definitely an experience I'll never forget, and if I could, I'd very much to go back to certain places for a bit! But only when they invent star trek-like transporters.. cos it's a long flight ;P (this might actually keep me from giong to Australia, if I'd ever want to go there). Anyway, I'd definitely should finish up sorting out my pictures and movies I took over there, and finally make it into a compilation movie! I'll work on that soon, I promise!

So what else.. hmm... right.. addictions.. we all got 'em. Right now I've got a pretty bad addiction to Muse. *grin* Really, it's becoming scary. I've been listening to their music every frikkin' day for well over a month now (i'd listen to 'em on a regular basis before that, mind you). Their latest DVD 'HAARP' managed to get me into this whole obsession. The night I saw the entire HAARP DVD I was less than sober, but OMG.. it blew me away! It's the best frakking concert I've ever seen/heard. But then, I guess I'm biased. ;)

But really, I've never been so much into a band (and really, I don't know -that- much about Muse and their music).. I guess the whole band and their music resonates with my soul. I can't describe it any other way. I guess that if I were in a band, and it was up to me, we'd be doing pretty much the same thing.. although I'm still crap at playing a guitar, haha.. need to work on that too!

I've also got a new job, in the mornings. Helps me to get up at a timely manner, so I can get some more work done, paradoxically (fun word!). Living on my own, the past year, has proven that I'm totally crap at disciplining myself into getting up around 9 or even 10 in the morning and get started on work. So, admitting that I have no discipline, I got me a parttime job in a warehouse, picking car parts. And I even get paid for it! Ain't that grand ;)

Now I still have to get ready for PinkPop. Unlike last year, I got plenty of time to pack my stuff.. I'm definitely not going to take as much with me as last year. And even though the line-up ain't great (for me :) ), I'm very much looking forward at spending some time with friends, and getting wasted, lol. (No worries, just softdrugs =P )
